How You Can HelpThere are several ways you can help the clients we have living at the Sun
House. As you may think, we do take monetary donations. Monetary donations provide us the flexibility to respond to emergency repairs and maintenance, to support staffing hours, and to provide more individualized support. Because we are a 501c3 nonprofit, all these donations are tax-deductible. If you’re unable to make cash donations, we also gladly welcome donations of household items such as silverware, towels, twin-sized sheets, cups and plates, among other things. When you upgrade items in your house, such as a television, computer or other electronics, think about donating the old ones to us. Because much of our money comes from grants with restrictions as to how that funding may be used, most of it goes to food, wages, and repairs. Therefore donations like these are greatly appreciated. Most of our clients have not seen a Christmas gift in years, and would be more than thrilled to know someone is thinking about them during the winter holidays. If you have a knack for landscaping or repairs, we always need someone’s green thumb in the flower beds or a fix-it person for small repairs around the Sun House. Toiletries are always helpful to us. We could always use more toothpaste, toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, or deodorant. |
